A European night you just can’t miss
“Notte blu” is one of the most popular events within Festival d’Europa; the initiative was thought as a special version of “Notte Bianca” dedicated to Europe, its cultures, traditions, diversity and taste. The appointment is on the night between 7 and 8 May. The important urban and collective experience will unwind for 27 hours in the streets, squares, villas, stores, theatres, and cinemas of the centre and the suburbs of Florence following the fil rouge of Europe. “Notte Blu” is another chance to discuss and think, but most importantly it is a moment to celebrate, have fun and get together.
Youth on the Move in Florence for the Festival d’Europa
From 7 to 10 May 2011, in Florence, the European Commission is to organize “Youth on the Move” as an ancillary initiative within the first edition of Festival d’Europa. The three-day event features a varied programme with projects being presented, speeches and experience sharing that will provide the youth a chance to discuss the issue of mobility and how to acquire the necessary skills to get a steady occupation. The focus will be on studying, learning, volunteer work, employment abroad and entertainment. The presence of Youth on the Move in Florence is part of a pan-European communication and promotion campaign that involved thousands of young citizens in the recent debates in Hungary, France, Germany and Poland.
Mayor Renzi: “the Festival d’Europa is a great opportunity for Florence”
"Festival d’Europa is a massive opportunity for Florence, as for four days the Tuscan city will return to be one the capitals of Europe”. These are the words of the Mayor Mr. Matteo Renzi during the launch of the event at Palazzo Vecchio. “I do believe that this particular initiative will be very helpful, especially for the new generations, people who grew up in terms of the amount of Euros in their pockets and not the amount of Europe in their hearts”. “The Florence to come – he explained – will either be European or it will have lost much of its nature of being a city that is open to the world; I certainly hope the former to be the target of this event”.
The development of SMEs among the purposes of the Festival d'Europa
Reducing the gap between high-level education and the actual needs of the entrepreneurial world and promoting cultural tourism as a measure to foster the sharing of cultural traditions among European citizens. These are the purposes of the two conferences organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Promofirenze within the Festival d’Europa to support the development of SMEs in the European Union.
The final appendix of the two meetings will be a b2b event aimed at developing business relationships between Italian companies working in the sector of agricultural and food technologies and operators of the Mediterranean area food industry.
