Florence turns blue for the Festival d’Europa

Scores of events will turn Florence into the European capital for four days. It will occur thanks to the Festival d’Europa taking place from the 6th to the 10th of May 2011.

One of the protagonists of the Festival d’Europa will be also the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with the production of Aida as a “concert for Europe” in the evening of the 7th of May. Appointment at the Teatro Comunale.

The Festival cultural programme is enriched by the contribution of the main cultural institutions of Florence territory: over forty institutions and associations collaborate to the realization of a programme of absolute importance, whose main events, starting from the opening show, can be followed live through the “official portal of Tuscany”, www.intoscana.it, created and managed by the Fondazione Sistema Toscana, one of the Festival d’Europa media partners.

Particularly noteworthy initiatives are the exhibition on historical cartography at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale; a debate on ‘The Role of Italy in the process of European Integration’, organised by the Fondazione Spadolini; an event for kids to be held at the Istituto degli Innocenti, and many other activities.
