How to reach Florence

AUTO

An efficient motorway network connects Florence to the rest of Italy and Europe. The exit of the A1 Autostrada del Sole to the center is: Exit Firenze Nord). In Florence, there are 12 car parks.

TRAIN

There are 4 train stations in Florence. Santa Maria Novella, Firenze Rifredi, Firenze Campo di Marte and Firenze Statuto.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

All Florentine buses and trams stop in Piazza Stazione. Public transport is provided for by ATAF: you can create your own itinerary directly on its website (www.ataf.net, see the section Travel Planner) or through Google Transit.

AIR

The Airport of Florence A.Vespucci

The airport is located 4 km from the center of Florence and can be reached by taxi (20 minutes) or the ‘Vola in bus’ service run by ATAF and SITA, linking the airport to the Santa Maria Novella train station. For information about "Pronto Ataf " dial 800 424500 (free from within Italy).

The Airport of  Pisa G. Galilei

The airport of Pisa is located 60 km from Florence and can be reached from the Santa Maria Novella train station in one hour: from 06.00 to 22.00 there are 3 trains to Pisa every hour, and also links between the central station of Pisa and Pisa Airport.
