Festival d'Europa on Social Networks
The Festival dell’Europa’s first edition (Florence, May 6 to 10, 2011) enters the social networks.
The initiative, organised by the European University Institute, has a Facebook page featuring photos from the presentation of the Festival to the city and the press, plus all updates and comments by fans.
The Festival is also on Twitter to help real-time communication of latest news and updates to the programme, the participants and the countless facets of the event.
Lastly, the YouTube channel dedicated to the Festival hosts all videos featuring contents and services of the major event of next May.
Art textile meeting at Festival d’Europa
“Art textile as an art trade. Sustainability and Innovation in Italy and Europe” is the title of the meeting organized by the Associazione Osservatorio dei mestieri d’Arte Della Toscana (OmA) within Festival d’Europa, to be held at the Sala Verde of Palazzo Incontri on Saturday 7 May; the meeting is held from 9.30 to 1.00 pm. World-class panellists are expected to come from many research centres and universities, as well as trade associations, the companies involved in the supply chain, the public administrations and the European Parliament. The focus of the discussion will be the possible solutions to foster the recovery of the textile industry in Europe. The speakers include MP Gianni Pittella, Vice-president of the European Parliament, Luciano Carrino, Executive Representative Inter Agency Scientific Committee for Human Development Cooperation (UNOPS), Marie Thérèse Chaupin, Coordination et Relation Européennes ATELIER- Laines d’Europe and Catherine Virassamy, Institut National Métiers d’Art (INMA) de France.
