Vincenzo Camporini

The problems of cooperation in the field of security and defense in the European Union

 

General Camporini joined the Air Force Academy in 1965, where he graduated in 1969. From April 2001 until February 2004, with the rank of Lt. General, he took up the position of Deputy Chief of Defence General Staff, then he was designated President of the Italian Centre for High Defence Studies. On September 20th 2006, he  was appointed Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force.
Between  February 12nd  2008  and January 17th  2011,General Camporini served as Chief of Defence General Staff.
He is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
His awards and decorations include Grand Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Comand Gold Medal, Gold Cross for Military Service, Italian Defence General Staff Medal of Honour, Commandeur of the Légion d'Honneur of the French Republic.
