Time and date:
10 May 09:45 - 12:30

The Associazione Via Maggio, with the valuable contribution of Giovanni Pratesi – Chairman of the Associazione Antiquari d’Italia –organizes a panel on the free movement of EU cultural heritage. The meeting will be attended by remarkable personalities of the institutional, collecting and art market world that will debate the Italian safeguard regulations. The current laws on exportation of works of art older than fifty years provide only for a first instance judgment given by the commission appointed by the Superintendency that gives or refuses the permission within forty days. According to the experts, these times are often too long, thus penalizing antiquarians who cannot meet quickly the requests of foreign collectors. In fact, with the introduction of the S.U.E., the informational system providing for the compulsory request of the release of free movement certificates, times should be significantly reduced. Also this topic will be discussed at the meeting.

Location:St. Mark’s English Church - Via Maggio 18
