Fondazione Premio Galileo 2000 – 14th edition. Special for Europe

Orchestre giovanili della Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino: this is the first group of names of the prize-winners that Alfonso De Virgiliis, lawyer and Chairman of the Fondazione Galileo 2000, has made official today at the European University Institute during the presentation of the Premio Galileo 2000. The award, at its 14th edition, will be given in Florence at the historic Teatro della Pergola on 9th May.

“Carrying on a good tradition and raising further the level of prize-winners, the 14th edition of the Premio Galileo will make you revive Europe immersed in magic”, affirmed Alfonso De Virgiliis, lawyer and Chairman of the Fondazione Galileo 2000

“A renewed Pergola will receive the award with a path in the cultures of the various countries constituting it, with Europe blue as the predominant colour and the participation of over 200 actors coming from the Accademia Teatrale di Firenze directed by Pietro Bartolini”, underlined Dott. Marco Giorgetti, Art Director of the Premio Galileo 2000.

Marco Del Panta, the Secretary-General of the European University Institute, explained that “Florence, with the Festival d’Europa, will become the debate location of the future of Europe”.

The President of the European University Institute has defined the Premio Galileo 2000 as “the most noteworthy event of the Festival d’Europa.”

This edition of the Premio Galileo 2000 takes place within the ambit of the Festival d’Europa, which will be held from 6th to 10th May 2011.
