Harmonic Balances
On 6th May 2011, in Florence, the Associazione Culturale RistorArte inaugurates the exhibition of contemporary art managed by Marco Testa, “Equilibri Armonici” at the SESSANTAQUATTROROSSO in via Maggio, 64r. The search for aesthetical and inner harmony does not stop to national boundaries: from Holland and Turkey to Italy, art and design find intellective, linguistic and expressive affinities in the seven artists displayed. The exhibition will be open during the Notte Blu (Blue Night): 7th – 8th May, from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.
An exhibition characterized by apparently static balances, where it seems that with a simple breath all that is miraculously held together may fall down. Figurative arts and design compare themselves on the theme of balance. Everything seems to stand on a few fixed points. Everything seems static because of surviving necessities. Yet, the dynamism of strengths counterbalancing with small, invisible and continuous harmonic movements keeping everything together, is perceived. Vector drives obeying the call for order, activate as soon as a disturbance, though imperceptible, sways the balance held together by continuous synapses. As if by magic, we discover that the mechanical and neurological energy is inside us and our emotions obey the same rules. Seven artists coming from three European countries describe their balances and, though pretending to be amazed, we know that they are also our balances.
