Narrowing the gap between education and business: it is possible thanks to Europe
Appointment on 6th May 2011, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the meeting "Tools and projects aimed at narrowing the gap between University and post-graduate education and the professional world", promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Florence and Promofirenze.
Many parties acknowledge the necessity of narrowing the gap between the world of education and the world of work: this is possible thanks to greater cooperation among the parties through effective collaborations at regional, national and international level among high-school education and companies, in order to improve communication and the understanding of educational needs.
During the event, which falls within the ambit of the first edition of the Festival d’Europa, the projects developed by the European Commission, the tools available at territorial level as well as some EU experiences in this field will be featured.
In addition to this, a round table will gather the representatives of Universities, companies and trade associations with the purpose of devising new and more effective strategies of job placement.

Fanzines, a completely European passion
Throughout the Festival d’Europa, from 6th to 10th May, in Florence, it will be possible to consult the production of the Fanzine European publishing history, thanks to the exhibition organized with the contribution of the Revotech company by the Fanzinoteca d’Italia, which keeps thousands of issues of fanzines that document the semi-underground part of European newspapers where it is distinguishable an almost univocal passion for all the ‘fanzine fans’ of Europe.
The exhibition will be an occasion to discover a socio-cultural cross-section that is not very well-known in Italy though its origins date back to the Fifties, and that unites many European countries. The path of the exhibition will be divided into countries with information boards and the opportunity to consult fanzines in the original language.
An intercultural coffee at the German Institute to study in Germany
How much information is needed by those who want to make a study experience in a foreign country? How many things have to be known before leaving? How can one organize in order to minimize the risk of unexpected events and to get the best results from the study journey?
Brigitte Mauel will answer all these questions during the “InterKultur - Kaffee: Training Interculturale per studenti” (Intercultural Coffee: Intercultural Training for Students), the meeting organized by the Deutsches Institut Florenz during the Festival d’Europa.
The informative afternoon, which will be animated by a sweet coffee snack including a piece of cake, is planned for 7th May from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at the Institute in Borgo Ognissanti 9 and promises to “disclose” all that you must know if you want to go to study in Germany. Participation is free. Please book at 055215993.
