The Shine of Gold: Painting on wood between the 14th and the 15th Century
In association with the Associazione Via Maggio, Tornabuoni Arte displays a collection of paintings on wood dating back to the 14th and the 15th centuries. The exhibition, which will be set within a charming small hall covered in black velvet, will include works of masters of different origin, mainly exponents of the Tuscan late Gothic but also artists from Veneto and Marche: from the strict Giottesque adherence to the Madonna with Child ascribed to Jacopo di Cione, to the late Gothic of Giovanni da Bologna and Zanino di Pietro, to the archaizing elegance of a late fifteenth-century painter, such as the Sienese Guidoccio Cozzarelli.
During the days of the Festival, Tornabuoni Arte will be pleased to take guests on guided tours of the Gallery.
