A Meeting with Simonetta Agnello Hornby
The event will be the occasion to go back over memories and also to draw a portrait of Sicily in the Fifties, in a family belonging to the landed aristocracy. All this thanks to the meeting with Simonetta Agnello Hornby planned for Friday 6th May at 6.30 p.m. at the Palagio di Parte Guelfa, for the publication of her new book (Sellerio) “Un filo d’Olio” (A Drizzle of oil). The initiative, organized by Edison and Martelli bookstores, in collaboration with Sellerio, allows for free access.
Born in Palermo, Simonetta Agnello Hornby has been living in London since 1972 where she is a lawyer and for eight years she has been President of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Court. In her last book, according to Andrea Camilleri “she produces the wonderful farms, she has a sense of the novel, of the volume – I mean volume in the architectonic sense, not in the book sense – that today we are losing, being worried about relating the journey within one’s room, instead about building something that can really resist”.
