La Zampa. Requiem
FABBRICA EUROPA presents the national premiere of Requiem by the French company LA ZAMPA, included within the events of the Festival d’Europa.
Accompanied by the guitarist Marc Sens, Magali Milian and Romuald Luydlin took the requiem as a form to be disarticulated, a potential to be reactivated. Adopting its insistence and repetitiveness, they turned it into a black and white rite of passage, an intermediate area where to unfold hidden dimensions of the body, where to simultaneously explore states of intensity, suspension, immobility and break. On the horizon of this research, there is the enigma of rest, a paradoxical situation that is neither peace, nor death, nor sleep, but it is rather a resistance to the flow: an unavoidable presence and refusal. Working on the border among genres, Requiem acts as an arrangement of strained materials: vocal cords that sing and accompany the text, guitar string that are rubbed, hit or grazed; muscles holding the limbs to the cables supporting the body like an offer or a torture; every element seems ready to fall at every moment.
