The National Central Library of Florence, on the occasion of the Festival d’Europa, displays from 6th to 31st May, a part of one of the largest collections of cartographic works. The collection, which is among the richest in Italy and the most complete worldwide, contains geographical and nautical charts, big size urban maps mounted on cuts of cloth. The most ancient group comes from the Magliabechiana and Palatina libraries and was enriched by subsequent 18th and 19th century acquisitions showing the whole development of the European cartography.
