La diffusione dell'italiano in Europa, secondo Gianfranco Folena
A two-day event dedicated to develop the diffusion of Italian throughout Europe. It is organized by the Accademia della Crusca on 6th and on 7th May at the Villa Medicea di Castello in via di Castello 46 in Florence, within the ambit of the Festival d’Europa. The international study conference will be dedicated to the memory of the great philologist and historian of the language, Gianfranco Folena, died in 1992. The seminar will take its cue from his main collection of essays with the homonymous title, which awarded the Premio Viareggio for non-fiction writing.
Federalism and taxation system of the cultural heritage - meeting of the Associazione Dimore Storiche
The topics of debate will be present and future of the taxation system of cultural heritage, federalist vocations compared with European prospects, in order to arrive at a proposal grouping the principles of the national regulations and community framework rules. This will take place at the Festival d’Europa which, among the many initiatives and debates of its schedule, provides for the meeting organized by the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane, Sezione Toscana, planned for Saturday 7th May from 3 p.m. at the Sala d’Arme in Palazzo Vecchio. Scholars and experts will participate by delivering speeches on the current subject of the taxation system of cultural heritage. Also Rodolphe de Looz-Corswarem, President of the Union of European Historic Houses Associations of Brussels, will take the floor.
The Birth of a great Europea Newspaper: il corriere di Eugenio Torelli Violler
The Hotel Salviatino of Florence, on the occasion of the first edition of the Festival d’Europa, organizes the presentation of the book “Il Garibaldino che fece il Corriere della Sera, vita e avventure di Eugenio Torelli Viollier” (Rizzoli ed.) by Massimo Nava, writer and journalist of the Corriere della Sera. The debate that will follow the presentation of the book, on 10th May at 6.30 p.m. at the Hotel Salviatino, will be attended by Paolo Ermini, editor of the Corriere Fiorentino, the writer Ludovica Sebregondi and Matteo Renzi, Mayor of Florence.
European Young people dealing with European Press
Ripplemarks editorial staff is made up of young people aged from 17 to 20 that for two years have been committed to a participative journalism laboratory promoted by the Istituto degli Innocenti with LAMA Development and Cooperation Agency. Ripplemarks will be at the heart of the event planned at the Festival d’Europa. On the occasion of the Festival, the group will produce a documentary video analysing the topic of the relationship between European and Florence youth, involving foreign students and interviewing them on their life in the town, their perspectives, lifestyles and future. The video will be shown during a workshop planned on 6th May, which will see the comparison among some realities working through media on young participation, together with some representatives of the mainstream media who are interested in voicing young people and opening their channels.
