Musica da Bere: Jazz and Oenology meet for Europe

Music and good wine will be the protagonists of the initiative “MUSICA DA BERE” organized by the Music School Il Trillo in Florence on Sunday 8th May from 11 a.m. at the School in Piazza Salvemini 11. Within the ambit of the Festival d’Europa, which will be held in Florence from 6th to 10th May, the School, among its other events, features two jazz concerts combined with high quality wine tasting. First concert at 11 a.m.: the pianist Manrico Seghi will perform with a programme dedicated to the saloon music.Second concert at 12 a.m.: performance of the “Quartetto Imput”, which was born from jazz courses held in the school.The concerts will accompany the tasting of the European product par excellence: wine, which is an integral part of the culture of the Old Continent. “Musica da Bere” is organized in association with Gastronomia Verdi, Enoteca Pozzo Divino, Podere Il Poggio and Azienda Vinicola Principe Corsini. Musica da bere: Jazz e enologia si incontrano per l'Europa

Sarà dedicata alla musica e al buon vino l’iniziativa Musica da Bere organizzata dalla Scuola di Musica Il Trillo di Firenze per domenica 8 maggio a partire dalle 11 presso la stessa Scuola in piazza Salvemini 21. Nell’ambito del Festival d’Europa, in programma a Firenze dal 6 al 10 maggio, la Scuola, fra gli altri eventi, propone 2 concerti jazz abbinato alla degustazione di vini di alta qualità. 1° concerto alle ore 11,00: si esibirà il pianista Manrico Seghi con un programma dedicato alla musica da saloon. 2° concerto alle ore 12,00: si esibira il "Quartetto Imput" nato dai corsi di musica jazz della scuola. I concerti allieteranno l’assaggio del prodotto europeo per eccellenza: il vino, che della cultura del vecchio Continente è parte integrante. Musica da Bere è organizzato in collaborazione con Gastronomia Verdi, Enoteca Pozzo Divino, Podere Il Poggio e azienda Vinicola Principe Corsini. Citizens Forum: The role of volunteering in the context of the European social model

On the occasion of the first edition of the Festival d’Europa, the European Parliament Information Office organizes on Friday 6th May at 5 p.m. at the Sala d’Armi di Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, a Forum dei Cittadini (Citizens Forum) on volunteering. On this occasion, the European Delegates of the Central Italy district (Paolo Bartolozzi, Carlo Casini, Francesco De Angelis, Leonardo Domenici, Niccolò Rinaldi, David Sassoli, Marco Scurria and Gianluca Susta) and the citizens will debate the subject “Ruolo del volontariato nel contesto del modello sociale europeo" (The role of volunteering in the context of the European social model).
The meeting falls within the ambit of the events dedicated to the European Year of Volunteering 2011. This initiative, which is organized by the European Parliament and the European Council, is aimed at promoting and strengthening active citizenship, social cohesion and democracy development, thus realizing the European values of solidarity, of non-discrimination and of harmonious development of the EU societies.

Two days at the dutch institute dedicated to the Art

From Pattern to Nature in Italian Renaissance Drawing. The transition from pattern book drawings to life drawing (from Pisanello to Leonardo) is the title of the international conference organized by Michael W. Kwakkelstein of the Dutch University Institute for Art History of Florence and Lorenza Melli of the German Institute for Art History of Florence. The meeting will take place on 6th and 7th May within the ambit of the Festival d’Europa with the purpose of further analyzing the transition occurred in the Renaissance from drawing as a copy of figures taken from set models and books to life drawing. In particular, the works of Pisanello, Benozzo Gozzoli, Antonio del Pollaiuolo and Leonardo da Vinci will be examined. The debate will focus also on the impacts of this transition on contemporary art.The event will take place at the Dutch University Institute for Art History in Viale Torricelli 5 in Florence.
